Who I am
My name is Mischa Portmann, a 35-year-old 3D Artist from Zurich driven by a deep passion for architectural visualization and animation. Originally trained as an architectural draftsman, my fascination lies in envisioning the final form of structures, propelling me towards a journey to expand my skills as a 3D Artist.
Immersing myself in the world of 3D animation movies and MoGraph, I constantly seek to refine my craft, particularly in the realms of motion graphics, dynamics and character design, which I passionately pursue in my free time.
Beyond my artistic endeavors, I am an ardent lover of traveling, finding joy and inspiration in exploring new cultures and landscapes around the globe which I’m eager to capture with my DJI Mavic Air 2.
Additionally, I have a keen interest in Australian hip hop, which serves as both a creative influence and a source of personal enjoyment. (have a listen in the playlist added down below)
When not pushing the boundaries of my artistic expression, I indulge in my love for extreme sports, finding solace and excitement in activities such as snowboarding and skydiving. These adrenaline-fueled adventures not only provide balance to my life but also infuse my creative work with a sense of energy and dynamism.
Where I come from
I completed my training as a structural draftsman with an artistic baccalaureate in 2010 and gained extensive experience in architectural and real estate firms. My architectural background naturally led me to specialize in creating detailed and realistic architectural visualizations and animations, furthering my skills through advanced training as a 3D artist in 2016.
In addition to my professional journey, my personal development has been marked by a deep passion for motion graphics and character animation. This interest has driven me to explore and integrate these elements into my projects, enriching my work with dynamic and engaging visual narratives throughout my career.
In the recent past, I assumed the role of team lead within the production team of the marketing department. In this position, I supervised and coordinated projects to ensure the production of high-quality visual content that seamlessly aligned with our marketing strategies. This experience markedly bolstered my leadership skills and offered invaluable insights into effectively integrating creative vision with strategic business objectives.
This role also inspired me to pursue post-graduate studies in business administration in 2023, which I successfully completed in 2024. By combining the theoretical insights gained from my studies with my existing technical knowledge, I have further enhanced my ability to lead teams effectively, manage projects efficiently, and contribute strategically to organizational success.
Combining technical precision with creative flair, my diverse background enables me to produce high-quality 3D art that is both accurate and aesthetically compelling. I am committed to pushing the boundaries of 3D artistry, delivering impactful visual solutions that captivate audiences and exceed client expectations.
